What is CBG?

CBG is the precursor for other cannabinoids. CBG does not cause an intoxicated effect. Cannabigerol (CBG) is one of more than 120 identified cannabinoid compounds found in the plant genus Cannabis. Cannabigerol is the decarboxylated form of cannabigerolic acid, the parent molecule from which other cannabinoids are synthesized. Cannabigerol is a minor constituent of cannabis. During plant growth, most of the cannabigerol is converted into other cannabinoids, primarily

tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or cannabidiol (CBD), leaving about 1% cannabigerol in the plant.

What is CBG Used for?

According to research, CBG has shown the ability to regulate the release of GABA, a neurotransmitter that helps calm pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and panic disorders. [i]

Scientists are encouraged about CBG and the upcoming research with CBG or CBG in combination with other cannabinoids regarding therapies for multiple medical aliments: IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), glaucoma, bladder dysfunction, Huntington’s disease, bacterial infections, cancer, and appetite loss. Addressing pain and inflammation are especially exciting. CBG is non-psychotropic, CBG is also an analgesic, therapy for psoriasis, and an antidepressant.
